The entry of big names such as Reliance Refinery, ESSAR Group, Adani Group, L&T AMW, ATUL AUTO, TATA, MARUTI, General Motors (CHEVROLET) FORD and PEUGEOT into the Gujarat region, has ensured that the market of auto ancillary industry is moving upwards. Gujarat is considered to overtake the current 3rd spot that it has in the coming few years as a few other major automobile manufacturers are also planning to have their manufacturing plants in the region and making it a preferred AUTOMOBILE HUB.
Over a period of time, Gujarat has also succeeded in widening its industrial base. At the time of inception in 1960, the industrial development was confined only to four major cities namely Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat and Rajkot and some isolated locations such as Mithapur and Valsad. Today, almost all the districts of the state have witnessed industrial development in varying degree. |
